Thank you for taking the time to acquaint yourself with my background, and my approach to bodywork.
My name is Ellen Jaedicke, and I am a licensed Massage Therapist, Shiatsu Practitioner and Level Two Reiki Facilitator with an AA from the Swedish Institute, College for Health Sciences in New York. I've had a private massage therapy business since 2003 in New York City first, and since 2008 in Rhode Island. I also am a member of the Crisis Massage Team of Rhode Island. We work on first responders on-site during a crisis situation such as a natural disaster or major emergency. And last but not least, my background as a formerly professional dancer and a continuously active life-style has been assisting me for a long time in understanding physical issues and how to overcome them with exercise, stretching, integrating breathing work, of course regular bodywork and a positive attitude.
My sessions are custom-tailored to your specific needs, and your feedback is always welcome. In addition, I also use my own intuition in guiding me towards a holistic approach to your well-being. A combination of several modalities such as Acupressure, Trager-style rocking, CranioSacral Therapy, Reflexology, Tui Na, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology, Tellington TTouch and also stretches and strengthening exercises are integrated into the sessions as needed and desired by you.
My sessions are never painful. I deeply believe that pain is counter- productive to restoring a sense of well-being. I understand pain, and have experienced much of it during many years of intense and chronic muscle pain with a condition known as Fibromyalgia. I have completely healed from it with receiving bodywork being a major part of my healing. More info about this you can find on a different page on this website listed above under Fibromyalgia.
I intend to re-create the memory of feeling wonderful in your body by giving an enjoyable experience, rather than reproducing the memory of pain in my sessions. I use a thorough warm-up of the soft tissue to prepare the muscles for deeper work, use deep listening and gentle coaxing of soft tissue into letting go, and very attentively use the exact pressure needed in both Massage and Shiatsu to create pain-free results. My approach is able to give you the sense of release, relief, and either immediately or eventually lead you to fully enjoying your body (again).
