Fibromyalgia/chronic pain On this page, I would like to give special attention to the condition called Fibromyalgia, since a growing number of people have been diagnosed with it or suspect they might have it. There are two important things I would like you to know: 1. I can truly understand what you are experiencing. I used to have it! 2. There is a way out of it!REALLY!!! I had it - and I healed. Don't let anybody tell you, you can not heal from it.. I never used any pharmaceutical drugs or medical interventions for healing!!!
Everybody's journey is different, and my method of healing might not be exactly like yours. However, I am pretty sure that I can assist you in some way on your path. First of all, my healing entailed a combination of approaches. Bodywork was a big, very helpful part of it. There are other modalities, forms of therapy and approaches to mental/emotional health I used, which I'll gladly inform you about as we get to meet on the phone or in person. For now, addressing your mind-set (and 'heart-set') is the first step to getting completely well again.
At this moment, how about a short feel-good exercise: lean back and imagine a beautiful place you would like to be at this very moment (the beach, a canoe ride in the rain forest, swaying in a hammock, etc.) ... Feel your body relaxing and then let that deep breath in effortlessly ... Just let the inhale come to you naturally. ... ... ... Then let a long, slow out-breath pour through your entire body ... just like a gentle shower of warm rain or liquid sunshine pouring down through you. As it has flowed through your body and soothed you, let whatever is left of the exhale flow out into the world (maybe there is nothing left and you needed it all - and that is totally okay). Let the next breath come in again and move through you again like a wave of comfort. Don't make it happen. Let it happen. With Ease. This is where healing begins. Self-nourishment. And this is where the experience of feeling completely well again resides. It starts with the experience of complete comfort that you might have forgotten over such a long period of chronic pain. In my sessions you will be able to experience periods of feeling well and comfortable in your body again. I work gently and intuitively always completely within your comfort zone. I truly know what that means. Remember, I was there where you are now and I understand. My sessions of any of the modalities offered in my practice focus first and foremost on soothing your nervous system; soothing it out of the idea that there is anything stressful, threatening or overwhelming out there. You are much stronger than you think, and you are much safer than you think in this world. I would like for you to feel completely safe in your body and in this world again. It starts in your experience with very gentle touch, and then slowly - at your own pace - letting go of tension bit by bit, session by session, so that your inner strength can come through to make you aware how secure you truly are and how you will not need the wall of armor (tension/contraction in your body) anymore. Now you can move forward in life and leave the past behind. You are ready to fly. In continuation of your series of sessions, you will develop a growing understanding of what your body and being truly needs to feel well and comfortable at all times. Step by step you will re-member how it feels to be free-of-pain, with a body that is as fluid and energetic as you wish it to be, and stay that way. My approach to bodywork for people with Fibromyalgia/chronic pain is not that much different from people who are healthy. Everyone receives a completely individual session of what you need at this very moment in time the day you come in. With one exception: this session for chronic pain clients is recommended to be shorter (60 min. only) - at least in the beginning - than my standard sessions (75 min.). People with Fibromyalgia are very sensitive, can easily be over-stimulated and overwhelmed where even much of a good thing can be too much. Also, the needs of people with Fibromyalgia are often fluctuating on a daily basis, even within the session. Every moment, every day, your sensitivities and needs may change. We will always go with the flow of what is needed in the moment of the session and of your life, with Ease & Joy.
